Daily Journal Continued October 7,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson Thank you Lord for this day,may we live it your way. We fly this morning to Los Angles California on NorthwestAirlink Via Memphis over the beautiful Whitewater Falls of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. An advance shipment of books are here for the review on Saturday in Santa Monica. We leave the troubles of the world and the awful T.V. commercials behind. I am invited to sign the book for those attending and we are the guest of the publisher of "The End is Near" catalog book printed in co- lor with the title taken from my big painting "Revelation reveal- ed",my300foot painting that has now shown in the American Vision- ary Art Museum in Baltimore during their artshow"The End is Near" May30,1997-April21,1998,Shown in The Las Vegas Art Museum June of 1998-August30,1998and first In Atlanta in the1996annual FolkFest. Let us live in a state ready to die and meet the Lord. A heartbreak of the death of a mother named Tonya Thompson while walking her 3 children to a bus stop last Thursday morning Oct.1 1998,their trailer home had just burned down one month before. I was driving out for breakfast before daylight that morning at ab-out the same time and seeing two kids in the dark waiting for the school bus reminded me of the danger children are in leaving home so early. It is more likely to make them dead than smart. Why do we put our kids at such risk? What can I do for this family that I do not even know but feel so sad for? We do waste human beings. This mother was runover by a truck before daylight. Unfortunately,it is raining hard and we boarded the Airlink Sabb commuter to Memphis before daylight getting a wet coldhead to fly in clouds all the way. The new $40million GSP Airport made no way to handle smaller planes even to park near at all,Commuterflights are now about half the traffic. A 5gallon waterbucket sits in the main corridor catching a big leak,I wish it was still easy tofly. "Thebeams of ourhouse are cedar, and ourrafters offir"SongofSol The world like this weather is in poor visibility. We are flying in clouds of darkness without instruments. The world money people are meeting in Washington with our oral President who is buying a route outofHell for himself with the falling dollar. It is a dark picture to paint, nobody wants to hear because of the fear that we may all face the finish of the race.$16 billion will soften their fall but will not really help them at all. World economy is coll-asping and where do we stand? Our hiding place is in The Lord God Almighty. When the fire falls and mushroom clouds over this world take their toll,we will need a savior spiritually and physically. Thank you Lord for a safetrip and achance towitness thy word. We are now on NorthWest757 to LosAngles over the dry West in bri- ght sunshine for3hours,By 11a.m.,we have crossed this continent. We are met by the lovely Jody of DilettantePress for a breezy and sunny drive South to Manhattan Beach,to the Townhouse Condominium where we stayed on the Beach as guest of the very generous Tim. I believe God has extended me credit because I amnot worthy of this sogreat of alife. We then drove North to Santa Monica to the book store where the gang had gathered,we saw the book"TheEnd Is Near" open in the window to many pages of the 192 printed. We went next door to eat at the Italian restaurant where Steven joined us with that great artist,NorbertKox whosepainting graces the frontcover.
